Intern-Apprenticeship
The Michigan Folk School is currently accepting applicants for its Intern-Apprenticeship program.
The program is a project of Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission that supports traditional craftspeople and artisan Instructors to work directly with a dedicated intern-apprentice on a program in their craft medium. The purpose of the program is to enable the selected intern-apprentice to learn a craft from bottom up through direct teaching, class assistance, and numerous projects.
The Intern-Apprenticeship program provides financial support to apprentices seeking to learn a traditional craft. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize creativity, build experience in traditional craft, learn from a Master Instructor, and become an Instructor at the Michigan Folk School.
Please click on the box of interest below to apply. Please be aware that preference will be given to these who have taken a class at MFS or have experience in the craft medium.
