Crafting a Coin Ring
Beginner
This class is a great way to make a very special gift for that very special someone in your life. Jump right in and make your own ring out of nearly any coin. Learn to form and stretch the coin into a ring shape in such a way that the coin markings remain intact on both the inside and outside of the coin. This class will utilize several metal-smithing and jewelry processes such as annealing, punching, forming, and filing to create a ring from a quarter. With these techniques, students will create a seamless custom fit to their exact size. Quarters or half-dollars are the popular choices for beginners, but with practice, beautiful rings can be formed from nearly any foreign or antique silver coins.
