TITLE: Michigan Folk School Receptionist
JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of a higher classified employee, MFS Receptionist is responsible for the secure entry of all MFS visitors, set-up and breakdown of classroom space, managing class registrations, and providing information to students and guests in person or over the phone. The receptionist will also be responsible for other administrative duties to assist in the MFS operations. The receptionist will typically work between 15-20 hours each week and must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

SALARY: $13-$15/hr
DEPARTMENT: Parks & Rec – Staebler Farm County Park, Michigan Folk School, 7734 Plymouth Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105
EXPERIENCE: Experience in customer service or educational programming preferred. Demonstrated experience or interest in folk arts and crafts strongly desired.
EDUCATION: High school diploma required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to and from the work site.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to interact pleasantly with general public and co-workers. Must have strong multi-tasking, organization and verbal and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a normal office setting and use standard office equipment, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and a hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person or over the telephone. Duties also require sufficient physical agility and sufficient physical ability to lift (40) pounds.
