My Philosophy...
First, learning is a life long endeavor. Second, the goal is not so much facts and skills as it is the ability to perceive and adapt. Third, learning together builds powerful bridges.

My Story...
I have been enthralled by our ancestors' skills literally since I was a preschooler. Hillbilly family taught me about springs and blackberries, rattle snakes and raccoons. As an older kid, I read any books I could find about survival and woodcraft, like Jean George's MY SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN and BUSHCRAFT by Richard Graves.

In college, I took classes in Anthropology and Archaeology. This introduced me to even more skills such as stone tools. After this, I formed a group called Great Lakes Primitives which held events in Michigan. I traveled to traditional events all over the country teaching and learning. I still do, and it is still a lot of fun.
