Instructor Profile

Crochet
Larissa Diem
Larissa Diem is a Detroit-based fiber artist, fashion school graduate, and avid crocheter. They first learned crochet from their grandmother, Bev, at the age of 8. Since then, they have experimented with the craft to make garments, stuffed animals, soft sculptures, tapestries, and more.
Diem believes fiber arts exists at the intersection of care, communal storytelling, and the material world. They are interested in exploring fiber arts, and especially crochet, as a means of liberating oneself from the cycle of consumerism, moving towards a more mindful and sustainable way of looking at the objects we hold dear.
