open studio's

Open Studios are an affordable way to have access to tools and equipment as well as the supervision of an experienced studio manager.  It's a great way to finish what you worked on in class, or start a brand new project. 
Stained Glass
Open Studio

Students who have completed a Stained Glass 101 course or have approval from the Stained Glass Instructor, we offer access to our glass studio for personal use.  This 3-hour session is offered around the same time as the broom making classes.  The Open Studio will be available on a few weekday evenings and a Sunday morning.  Stained Glass will be available for purchase.

Example of Glass Studio Equipment:
  • Glass Ring Saw
  • Bandsaws
  • Grinders
  • Foilers
  • Numerous hand tools
  • Soldering stations
  • Cam station
  • Light boxes
This class requires prior experience working with stained glass & glass crafting equipment.  Interested people must fill out a VERY short form (LINK) in order to receive a special code for registration.  You will only have to fill out this form ONCE.

Blacksmithing
Open Studio

Students who have completed a Blacksmithing 101, Intro to Bladesmithing course or have approval from the Blacksmith  Instructor, we offer access to our Blacksmithing Studio for personal use.  This 3-hour session is available on a few weekday evenings.  Metal and additional coal will be available for purchase (1 bucket of coal supplied).

Example of Blacksmithing Studio Equipment:
  • Coal forges
  • Multiple Weight Anvils
  • Leg Vices
  • Forge Tools
  • Knife Grinders
  • Knife Sharpeners
  • Metal Drill Press
  • Various Smith Tools
This class requires prior experience working with steel and judging appropriate temperatures for forging. Interested people must fill out a VERY short form (LINK) in order to receive a special code for registration.  You will only have to fill out this form ONCE.

Broom Craft

Students who have completed an Introduction to Broommaking course or have approval from the Broom Craft Instructor, we offer access to our broom shop for personal use.  This 3-hour session is offered around the same time as the broom making classes.  The Open Studio will be available on a few weekday evenings and a Sunday morning.  Broom materials will. be available for purchase.

  • Floor Bobbins
  • Broom Hand Tools
